Spicy Low-Sodium Seasoning

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp iodonized table salt
  • 2 tsp "Nu Salt" or other brand potassium-chloride sodium-substitute
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp black pepper

Mix together. Keep in small container such as a shaker or a 2oz  tuperware, shake well before use as contents will settle.... Use as you would salt and pepper on most things. Will reduce your sodium intake greatly. Delicious on homemade fries, (especially sweet potato fries!), ommelettes, in broth/soups, on roasts, and more. :D

The American diet contains WAY too much sodium and a heavy lack of potassium. I, myself, was born with an irregular heart beat AKA a "heart murmur" which I notice disappears ENTIRELY when I am getting adequate amounts of potassium.  (You would have to eat five bananas per day to get your daily potassium intake. I don't know about you, but I am no monkey.) So, whenever I make greens, potatoes, eggs, meat, etc at home, I try to either salt it with Nu Salt or the recipe above....Getting the right balance of potassium vs sodium will reduce fatigue, allowing you to exercise more and PLAY LONGER... hehehehehe!

Now if only soy sauce came with Nu-Salt instead of sodium table salt.... muahahahaha.
